Ursula K Le Guin: Common Text Featured Lecture
Join us for a presentation for Seattle University students, faculty, staff, and alumni from acclaimed author Ursula K. Le Guin, who wrote this year's Common Text, The Lathe of Heaven.
Ms. Le Guin has published 21 novels, 11 volumes of short stories, four collections of essays, 12 books for children, six volumes of poetry and four of translation. Three of Ms. Le Guin's books have been finalists for the American Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize, and among the many honors her writing has received are a National Book Award, five Hugo Awards, five Nebula Awards, SFWA's Grand Master, the Kafka Award, a Pushcart Prize, the Howard Vursell Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the L.A. Times Robert Kirsch Award, the PEN/Malamud Award, and the Margaret A. Edwards Award.
This event is presented by the Office of the Provost, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Science and Engineering, the Learning Communities Program, the University Core, the English Department and its Creative Writing Program, the Pigott-McCone Chair, and the Philosophy Department.
