Screenwriting 101
The four-hour workshop conducted by Gary Michael Weinberg introduces students the basics of screenplay format and structure, plot and character development, construction of great dialogue, and tips on getting a script seen by the very people who can "green-light" the project. As Aaron Cheeseman of Curtis Park says, "I really enjoyed Gary's workshop. And I'm looking forward to the more in-depth series!" Screenwriting 101 is designed to give students an overview of the screenwriting process that is covered more thoroughly in Weinberg's Write Your Screenplay, A Twelve-Week Intensive. The cost for Screenwriting 101: An Introduction to the Art and Business of Screenwriting is $50.
Award winning screenwriter Gary Weinberg is Co-founder of Generation Next Media LLC. Weinberg is the winner of the 2010 Scriptapalooza Television Writing Competition for his pilot, The Asylum, an edgy comedy about a group of misfit salesmen. Weinberg has written scripts for other production companies, including Ninja Nun for Cimero Productions and Magical Planet for Bloom From Within Productions. He has also been a "script-doctor" for numerous screen and television writers in Los Angeles. A member of the Screen Actors Guild, Weinberg is also a musician and songwriter.
