It All Starts with the Grass
Come and learn with us. Taste the differences between styles of cheeses - all local, all from the milk of animals grazing on our own Spring grasses. We will taste cheese from
Two Rock Creamery - Italian style goat cheeses
Bohemian Creamery - cow, sheep, and goat cheeses
Weirauch Farm & Creamery - cow cheese and fresh sheep
We are so fortunate to have Colette Hatch, Madame de Fromage, with us who will talk about all these cheeses and the local cheese movement in Sonoma County.
The cheese makers from these farms will be with us to talk about their practices and the terroir of their cheeses.
Craig Ramini who is raising water buffaloes locally and will be making the first local mozzarella cheese soon will also talk with us.
We will pair different cheeses with beers from Russian River Brewery, with local wines, with locally made preserves from Merrilee Olson, and with honey and honeycomb from Hector's Honey. There will also be fruit juices and mineral water, and we encourage children to attend!
Everyone who attends will have tasting forms to record their responses to the different tastes and pairings.
