Reaching Your Audience: Community Engagement 101

It's not enough to make a great film about an important topic. That film must reach its intended audience, or it will die on the shelf.

This is a hands-on workshop focused on community engagement strategies, for up to 15 filmmakers. Taught by the capable strategists at MOCAMEDIA, http://www.mocamedia.tv/

Prerequisites:

Limited to filmmakers with current projects, chosen by application process to make sure they're ready to benefit from the workshop. Each filmmaker must bring a wifi capable laptop computer.. ( we ill provide a limited number of computers, first come, first served)

Outreach outline including: distribution-film festivals and other screenings, possible broadcast, website and social media, curriculum sponsors, funders and partners; sponsors for special screenings; fundraising for outreach and promotion; alliances with non-profit organizations

Action plan: steps viewers can take after seeing the film

Subjects covered: core audience, creative outreach strategies, social media, partnerships, resources, collaborative workspaces, case histories
