Decision Making for the Experienced Backcountry Traveler
Decision Making for the Experienced Backcountry Traveler: Review and analysis of the ongoing challenges we face when managing avalanche risks in the mountains.
To provide a means of ongoing education and improvement in the decision making processes of experienced backcountry travelers.
This two-hour evening of lectures and interactive work will examine the 'in the moment' dynamics that can affect the decision making processes of experienced backcountry users.
This evening is geared towards to people with a little to a lot of backcountry (skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing) experience who are looking to improve their decision making skills. Previous avalanche training, such as an avalanche level 1 or 2, is recommended, but not required.
