Harvard Square Food Tour
The more Harvard Square changes, the more it remains the same. Join us as we explore the old and the new, including a few food institutions that remain as popular today as they were over 50 years ago, and a new restaurant about which all the local foodies are a-buzzin'.
Our tour group meets at the Charles Hotel, where guests have the option of arriving early to enjoy a pre-tour drink at Henrietta's Table, the home of one of "Best of Boston" brunch. And while you're there, check out its cute little shop. We think you'll enjoy browsing there, and maybe even making a purchase or two.
First stop is the Charle Hotel's Farmer's Market, where we'll sample Boston's best roasted nuts. Next, a popular tavern whose chef came thisclose to winning Eater's 2012 "hottest" Boston chef. His snout-to-tail cooking is the talk of the town, and we'll show you why. We never know what they'll have in store for us at our next stop...could be raspberry beer or their addictive rosemary fries. No meat, though...they're trying to save the enviroment! Our third top will steal your heart, for sure. Honey reigns supreme...oh, and bees do, too! And how could we leave out Harvard Yard? One, two, three "cheese", everyone. You, too, John Harvard! If you want to know about our fourth stop, just ask Cambridge-bred actor Matt Damon. While we can't give away all of our surprises (that wouldn't be fun), we can tell you that we'll throw in a little bit of France and a little bit of Cuba before ending our tour. Oh, and maybe some chocolate, too! And wait 'til you see our finale. You'll surely want to stay for that!
