CHEREMOSH Ukrainian Dance Company - KALEIDOSCOPE of Ukrainian Dance Tour
The CHEREMOSH Ukrainian Dance Company is proud to bring to Rochester, NY, "KALEIDOSCOPE of Ukrainian Dance". The Production will feature Canada's internationally acclaimed, CHEREMOSH UKRAINIAN DANCE COMPANY under the direction of world class Artistic Director/Choreographer, Mykola Kanevets. CHEREMOSH and Mykola have been recognized in Canada and abroad as one of the premiere Ukrainian dance performing ensembles worldwide.
Founded in 1969 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, CHEREMOSH has toured extensively worldwide including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
CHEREMOSH has received various awards such as the city of Edmonton's 'Salute to Excellence' award and the 'Golden Orpheus Award-Absolute European Champion of Folklore' at the European Championship of Folklore in Nessebar, Bulgaria.
Artistic Director Mykola Kanevets is highly educated, skilled and talented and has received numerous awards and recognition for his work with Cheremosh. To name a few: the city of Edmonton's RISE award, the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee award, he was awarded the honour of Maestro Academic at the European Championship of Folklore, and in 2013 was given the prestigious honour of membership in the Order of Pavlo Virsky (awarded by Pan Myroslav Vantuch himself during a Cheremosh production in Kyiv, Ukraine).
