THE RENT SHOW
Since 2008, The Rent Show has been challenging the minds and touching the hearts of its audience. The Rent show has become one of Atlanta's best variety shows incorporating an open mic, feature performance based artists, and a theatrical production on topics of controversy in an innovative way. Now in its 5th season run, The Rent Show has become a mainstay in Atlanta's artistic community for the mature, socially conscious, and creative intellectual.
Founded, hosted, and produced by Ken j. Martin, The Rent Show has featured countless artists on the local and national scene such as HBO Def Poets Georgia Me, Malik Saalam, Abyss, Tommy Bottoms, & Buttafly Soul, as well as Atlanta's Brave New Voices Team, Meadow, and the number #1 Woman in the World for Poetry in 2011 Theresa Davis, Chauncey Beaty, Red Summer, Ap Sims, Byron Lord, The Featherz, Alexis Hollis, 3rd Creek, Miggie 9 and many more people whom have graced our stage. The Rent Show has moved from coffee shops like The Urban Tea Party, Urban Grind, Latitude, and Juiceez & ETC to larger venues like UTM Studios, London Bistro Ultra Lounge, The Little 5 Points Community Center and Now the Southwest Performing Arts Center. Giving an alternative experience to the mundane and ritualistic Saturday Atlanta night life while ending at a reasonable time allows our guest to continue their night out.
