"Rave" by Jehnean Washington Gullo & Anthony Gullo - staged reading (Los Angeles Theater Festival)
"Rave" by Jehnean Washington Gullo & Anthony Gullo (staged reading) "Rave" is an original screenplay written by Antonio Gullo and Jehnean Washington is intended to be a work that reflects American culture in its various aspects. From the persistent issue of human trafficking in America to the mixing of European pagan cultural practices (in particular Southern Italy; where the mystical beliefs are still practiced in the magical days of the summer solstice) to the ancestral past and present mythology of Native American culture with its celebrations and sacred traditional rites of passage. The story Rave tells takes place in a California desert where modern day Americans come together to celebrate alternative cultures in a festival of music, light and sound and where all of the characters collide.
