Makin' Us Whole
PS Media Talent Presents: Makin' Us Whole: A Tribute to Literary Activists
Teacher of the Year, Ms. Florence Avognon gives tribute to Unsung Heroes of Literature in a One Woman play.
Come & Experience a living tribute to Nikki Giovanni , Sonia Sanchez, and Maya Angelou. Let's celebrate the written word as it comes alive before our very eyes. This one-woman show pays tribute to the African-American authors who have literally saved lives. Travel across time with characters and music that provide a unique look at various powerful works rarely heard. The show will explore the humor, rhythm, passion, and protest in Black literature.
The CTA recently wrote an article about the accomplishments of the teachers attaining Teacher of the Year, http://www.cta.org/ProfessionalDevelopment/Publications/Educator-Dec-11-Jan-12/Teacher-of-the-year.aspx.
Here is a short video of Ms. Avognon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnzyUzFiZtI .
We'll see you there!
