One night only! The Twin Cities premiere of kART Across America (see trailer at right).
"A genuine slice of Americana." - Oscar-winning cinematographer of The Cove, Brook Aitken
"An 83-minute odyssey predicated on a disastrous, ridiculous and surprisingly successful gimmick: a golf kart named Christine, in which they spent 100 days traveling the United States." - Village Voice, Westword's Kelsey Whipple
Summary: Two childhood friends venture out on a 100-day journey around America asking people, "What's your art?" And they do it all by golf kart. kART Across America explores what it means to be an artist in the United States, uncovering culture and creativity at 30mph. Though the golf kart broke down nearly every day, Jeremy Make and Andy Raney were determined to meet artists from all walks of life from three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee to needle-felting craftswoman Jenna Catsos. But it's the journey of uncovering your own art that's often more elusive.
Rating: Not yet rated (a few instances of colorful language, mostly from the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf).
Tickets: $10 through February 20, $12 after. Also available at the door day of.
