The world of standup comedy can be an isolating place for women and for this reason many women are deterred from standup early in their careers or before they have even begun.

The Lincoln Lodge has created The Feminine Comique a beginners foundation course that strives to give prospective female performers the confidence and skills they need to begin a career in standup comedy.

The Feminine Comique gives students the opportunity to spend five weeks in a supportive all-female (and trans friendly) environment while learning the fundamentals necessary to write and perform standup comedy.

The course is founded on the comedy principles of the critically acclaimed Lincoln Lodge, a national leader in
cultivating and developing new comedy talent. Join one of Chicagos top comics, Kelsie Huff, for a course in stand up comedy, offered by the locally and nationally revered Lincoln Lodge, Chicagos top stand up and variety showcase.

The five weekly 2 hour sessions of this course will focus on:
Joke structure
Finding an attitude and persona
Connecting with an audience
Topical humor
Creating a cohesive set

The course will culminate in a student showcase at the Lincoln Lodge and will provide students with an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience. Students also receive a DVD of their performance at The Lincoln Lodge.

Tuesday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 6th at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 13th at 7:00 p.m.

Question:	Since I work evenings, I'm wondering if this class is ever offered in daytime or weekends - or if you know of another female comedy class that is - thanks
Answer:	Currently Fem Com 1 and 2 are only offered during evening weekday hours; however, Cameron Esposito does teach an occasional stand up workshop.
