A University of Houston professor, Pollack presents a scholarly, yet entertaining look at one of America's most celebrated composers. Pollack draws from a treasure trove of manuscripts, letters, interviews, books and articles, recordings and film, and even a large cache of Gershwin scores discovered in 1982 in a Warner Brothers warehouse. Along with Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, and Cole Porter, George Gershwin created the memorable soundtrack for the Golden Age of Hollywood.
