The Bad Things, Eliza Rickman, and Toy Box Trio
Silent City Productions presents
The Bad Things Eliza Rickman and The Toy-Box Trio
Doors at 7pm. Music starts at 8pm. This is a 21 + event. ID required!
Seattle's punk/cabaret kings The Bad Things return to the Columbia City Theater with SF/LA chanteuse Eliza Rickman and the carnival symphonies of The Toy Box Trio.
Here's what the press is saying about these musical oddities:
The thing with [The Bad Things] is that within three songs the crowd will be swaying side to side, by the fourth the dancing will be open and unashamed. Accordion front man Jimmy the Pickpocket leers at the crowd and sings with a captivating energy reminiscent of Shane MacGowan crossed with Frank Black. Seeing them [is] proof that Seattle loves the Bad Things. You could feel the wooden dance floor move under your feet like a trampoline...They are honest, and their music speaks volumes of emotion. They're at their best when they are manic, Jimmy the Pickpocket's neck vein popping out as he puts it all into the mic. Their songs are as comfortable as sea shanties, but they sound fresh. There's nothing automatic, or stale. - Tom Mohrman CultureMob
"Watching the raven-haired singer-songwriter [Eliza Rickman] perform ... is like seeing one of the sexy secretaries on Mad Men happily work on a typewriter." - Adam Joseph Monterey Weekly
[Toy-Box Trio's] music is somewhere between classic Klezmer and three-ring circus, but there is a modern edge to it that brings it directly into the 21st century, and even more so, into the vein of all things Seattle. - Dustin Schisler City's Best - Seattle
