XPN Welcomes David Johansen
David Johansen is one of the most influential singers, songwriters and band leaders in rock and roll history. He will perform an evening of his classic songs and great covers in an acoustic duo performance. From the classic albums of the New York Dolls, which presaged the New Wave and Punk movements in the 70s, to his great solo career, his film acting work, his hilarious and fun years as Buster Poindexter, to his great folk song series with the Harry Smiths, David Johansen has remained unique and always relevant. His recent reforming of the New York Dolls included an album hailed as best of the year by Robert Christgau. We are thrilled to welcome one of the greats in rock history to Gild Hall for an intimate evening of music.
