The MGLCC is a phenomenal organization that performs miracles on a daily basis. They provide:

Free HIV Testing and STD Prevention Education
Counseling
Support and Social Groups
Youth Services
Food Pantry for those in need
Finding Housing for homeless Gay youth

I know for a fact that on any given morning the center opens its doors to find kid(s) sleeping on the doorsteps because they have been kicked out of their homes during the night. Last year's holiday season saw the 13 kids they had prepared for swell to 24. Even though it made resources tight nobody was turned away. It was only through the hard work of the center staff and volunteers and the many people that donated clothes, food, supplies, money, etc. that this was possible. Now that time has come again and they need our support.

I can speak from experience that as cliched as it sounds their is no better feeling than giving. Especially when it is giving to your own community and your own brothers and sisters. We are a family in Memphis and like any family we grow larger every day, and just like every family we must provide safety and shelter from the storm for the new.
