TRD November 19 Home Bout
Tucson Roller Derby Open up a can of.
Tucson, AZ November, 2011 It's the time of year to be thankful, and Tucson Roller Derby is thankful for fishnets, good knee pads, and our fans! So thankful, in fact, that we are starting off the holiday season with another double header of the 2nd annual Arizona State Conference. Ready to open a big can of butt whoopin in the first game are the TRD Copper Queens and the Dirty Verde Roller Derby girls. In the second game of the evening, the TRD Furious Truckstop Waitresses are ready to dish out some of their own against the Surly Gurlies from Phoenix.
While it is the season to be thankful, more importantly the holidays are about giving. Tucson Roller Derby is proud to feature the Tucson Community Food Bank as our charity for the month. The mission of the Community Food Bank is simple; "Through education, advocacy, and the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food, we will anticipate and meet the food needs of the hungry in our community." To help the Food Bank in their mission, Tucson Roller Derby will give you one raffle ticket for each non-perishable food item that you bring. If you bring 15 or more cans/non-perishable items, you will receive one free admission to the game. Also, to help out with the holiday shopping, TRD will be holding a Pampered Chef fundraiser! Place your orders now and mark some people off your list.
November is a great time for turkey, stuffing, and your favorite roller derby action, so be sure to check out the next home game of the Arizona State Conference. Will the Copper Queens and Waitresses get in the holiday spirit and hand out more than a few bruises to the DVRD and Surly Gurly skaters? There's one way to find out, so be there for all the action on November 19th!
Check our Web site or Facebook page for your opportunities to purchase discounted commemorative ticket-buttons directly from skaters. Tickets can also be purchased at the Surly Wench Pub, Pop Cycle, The Red Garter Bar and Grill, Bella Donna Salon and Spa, ReActivate, and Bookmans. Tickets can also be purchased from Brown Paper Tickets online, http://brownpapertickets.com
