Peter Wolf Crier with Vitrolum Republic and William Within
Coming off the success of their first album in 2010, Peter Wolf Crier released another full-length, entitled "Garden of Arms," in September. This Minneapolis duo, made up of Peter Pisano and Brian Moen, strings together chilling melodies and hauntingly beautiful vocals to create a layered, poignant new album.
Proving to be an eclectic bunch from Milwaukee, The Vitrolum Republic infuses folk, bluegrass, blues, and gypsy tango styling into a blurred genre that they call "gypsy noir." Their first LP, released last year, is entitled "For Highbrow Sideshows and Rowboat Serenades."
Another folk band from Milwaukee, William Within used to be a one-man project by Alex Simpson. Now with four new members, Matt Blake, Toby Ramaswamy, Tom Steffes, and Derek Rohlf, William Within is playing with a psychedelic form of folk music in their new album "For Your Nostalgic Pleasure."
