Classic California: The Eternal Elegance of Robert Sinskey Vineyards

It has taken months of back-and-forth arranging, and years of hoping, and we are now proud and grateful to announce that Maria Sinskey, of Robert Sinskey Vineyards in Napa Valley, will be our guest of honor for a grand dinner on Saturday, August 29.

Robert Sinskey's estate-grown wines from biodynamically farmed vineyards in Carneros are the lodestar, the benchmark, the basis, the mountaintop, the apogee, the flat-out knock-down killerest wines from this, the most prized wine country in the United States. With a traditional, Europhile perspective, the Sinskeys' wines speak fluent French: a distinctly Napa take on the classics from Alsace, Burgundy and Bordeaux.

For this exceptional dinner, we will present six gorgeous wines (including some never before available in Maine), joined with amazing food from Rosemont Chef Brad Messier. Brad is never as thrilled as when late August rolls around, so that he can take full advantage of the height of our local, seasonal bounty.

Brad and Maria Sinskey will design the menu together, since Maria is herself a classically trained chef who runs Robert Sinskey Vineyards' acclaimed kitchen and tasting room, which recently won Sunset Magazine's Tasting Room of the Year award and is slated as a Must Visit Winery by Wine Spectator magazine. Maria also happens to be a totally kick-ass, super-fun person, and the whole evening is going to be a pretty amazing party.

These are the wines dreams are made of. The food will be glorious. The setting is magical. The company will be...well, it will be you, so you know it's gonna rock.
