Bootleggers Prohibition Bash
On Friday, November 11, 2011, Bella Luna Restaurant & Milky Way Lounge will be celebrating 18 years of operations in Jamaica Plain.
To celebrate, Bella Luna will be hosting the "Bootleggers' Prohibition Bash" featuring The Mood Swings Orchestra, a 17 piece-all female Big Band playing hits of the Roaring 20's, vintage themed menu options, 'Bootlegger' cocktails, and a photographer providing guests with a personalized souvenir. Everyone is encouraged to arrive in costume and celebrate in true roaring twenties style.
Since 1993, Bella Luna and the Milky Way's mission has been to create community through fantastic food, art and music; to be a gathering place where everyone feels comfortable and has fun; and to build a better Boston by supporting the work of community organizations. During the last 18 years, Bella Luna has contributed over two hundred thousand dollars and countless parties to hundreds of non profit groups; ranging from the Move On.Org benefit organized by Rick Berlin in 2004, to the annual holiday party for the Hawthorne Community Center, to the post fire roof raisers for El Orientale de Cuba and the Jamaica Plain First Baptist Church.
In 15 years at their original Centre Street location, Bella Luna supported the Hyde Jackson business district as a co-founder of the JP World's Fair, active members of the Main Streets board, and longtime supporters of the Connelly branch library. The parade to relocate Bella Luna to the Brewery in 2009 drew over 1,200 people who helped launch the successful restaurant, lounge and patio space at 284 Amory Street. Bella Luna continues to donate 1% of sales to local community organizations.
Join Bella Luna in celebrating 18 amazing years on Friday, November 11, 2001.
The party kicks off at 10:00 pm.
