EM PREMIERE: ONE SCREENING ONLY!

"Em" is an acclaimed romantic drama that will have its Boston premiere for one night only at 7:00 PM, October 24th at the West Newton Cinema. Josh Weathers (played by Peabody native Nathan Wetherington) is an aimless young man in his twenties who is looking for more out of life. Enter Amanda "Em" Helms, a vivacious and spirited young woman who lives life to the fullest. Instinctive mutual attraction brings them together and soon blossoms into a rich romance. But when the two decide to start a new life and a home together, secrets of the past emerge.

"Em" will be released domestically by Vanguard Cinema on October 25th. It was recently described as "Stunning and brilliant!!" by Mary-Charlotte Domandi of National Public Radio and "Intimate and haunting...Bergman-like" by John Hartl of The Seattle Times. Watch the trailer to the right.

"Em" was produced by frequent Newton resident and award-winning feature writer-director-producer Jim Jermanok ("Passionada" "Agganis"). The film premiered at the recent Seattle International Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize--beating out 200 other films. The film went on to win The Criterion Collection's International Inspiration Award, Best Producer Award at the Brooklyn Intl. Film Festival, and Best Film Award at the Strasbourg International Film Festival, among others. The film has also appeared to great acclaim at the Santa Fe Film Festival, The Palm Springs Intl. Film Festival, and the Florida Film Festival.
