Copper Oven Dinner Series: A Seafood Spread
This season, Amber Waves Farm is kicking off our Copper Oven Dinner Series! Each dinner will feature seasonal produce straight from our fields plus local goods from our farmer and fishermen friends, cooked in our 100% organic, wood-fired copper oven custom-built from Maine Wood Heat. The family-style feasts will be served on farm tables lining our beautiful field.
The first Copper Over Dinner will feature a three-course meal prepared by our farm Chef-in-Residence, Megan Huylo. She'll be cooking up locally harvested, sustainable seafood from our friend Anthony Sosinski of the Anna Mary lobster boat in Montauk, and of course, Amber Waves Farm veggies. Us farmers will be harvesting whatever looks best the morning of the dinner to serve up salads and sides. To wash it all down, we'll be pouring wines from Channing Daughters Winery and brews from Montauk Brewing Company.
THE MENU: Lobster pizza Caprese salad Greens salad Potato salad Corn on the cob Mussels + clams Carissa's breads (made with Amber Waves Farm wheat!) Shortbread + spreads
SCHEDULE: 5pm - 6pm: Grab a drink and take a tour of the farm with Amber Waves Farm staff 6pm: Take a seat at the table and get ready to feast!

ABOUT THE COPPER OVEN DINNER SERIES:
2015 marks the inaugural year for our Copper Oven Dinner Series. We'll be hosting three dinners throughout the summer, each with a different menu. The family-style meals will be prepared by our farm Chef in Residence, Megan Huylo, along with some of the Hamptons' most notable culinary creators. They'll be using our 100% organic, custom-built wood-fired copper oven to cook up Amber Waves Farm produce, along with seasonal ingredients sourced from other local East End farmers, fishermen, and purveyors. Join us, your local farmers, and your fellow diners around our communal farmhouse tables to engage in a fun, hands-on meal inspired by all the East End's land and sea has to offer! Proceeds from Copper Oven Dinner ticket sales will support Amber Waves Farm's educational programming, which grows young farmers through our seasonal apprenticeships, and connects eaters, especially children, to their food and the farmers who grow it.
ABOUT AMBER WAVES FARM:
Amber Waves Farm, founded by Amanda Merrow and Katie Baldwin in 2009, is a 25 acre mixed vegetable and wheat farm located on the East End of Long Island in Amagansett, NY. The pair have been farming together on the East End of Long Island since 2008 when they met during a season-long farming apprenticeship at Quail Hill Farm and decided to follow their passion for good food and hard work by founding their own farm. After analyzing the East End Foodshed, they realized something was missing - grain. After acquiring some acreage through the Peconic Land Trust, Amanda and Katie decided to grow organic wheat for flour and wheat berries. Now in its seventh season, Amber Waves Farm specializes in a 160 member CSA, in addition to selling at the Montauk Farmers' Market and to some of the Hamptons' most popular restaurants. Another staple of the farm is education. Amanda and Katie started their Young Farmer Apprenticeship Program in 2012, which has continued to grow every season. The farm is also open to the public every day and regularly welcomes families, school groups, and passers by to enjoy all the fields have to offer. Amanda and Katie are part of the national movement of young people committed to revitalizing America's food system by helping people become empowered and excited to make thoughtful food choices through a deeper connection to their food and the people who grow it. The girls have been featured on the Food Network's Barefoot Contessa, ABC'sThe Chew, in The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and many local publications for their work at Amber Waves Farm.
