Healing and Building Community
Come share in an experience of healing and reconciliation for immigrants and refugees from the Horn of Africa. The suffering, loss and trauma of years of war and displacement has left its mark on the people and communities that have resettled here. Trauma and loss leave many disconnected from others and their community. There is a way back. Come learn that way.
The Horn of Africa Services with Projects for a Civil Society are bringing a powerful healing tool to Seattle. This program was developed by the African Great Lakes Initiative in Rwanda and Burundi in response to the trauma of the genocide. After 15 years of lessons from this conflict the program is now going to countries around the world to help others heal. A trainer is coming from Rwanda to work with others trained there to offer this program to the East African community of King County.

Q&A
Question: |
I am not able to attend all three days, but I work very closely with burundian refugees and am very interested in coming. Would it be possible to come for part of the conference (I am a local pastor and just can not get away on Sunday, and have church meertings Saturday morning). Also, is this conference suitable for regugees themselves? Will there be a Kirundi interpreter? |
Answer: |
Please call me at 206.856.4444 to discuss this. |
