A dance group from the outskirts of Havana strives to win the Cuban national dance competition. The group comes from the Guanabacoa neighborhood and their passion is Cuban salsa. Along with the group's journey, we hear about the fabulous Cuban music, the ins and outs of the dancers' personal lives, and the history of the dance as told by old school dancers who were there when it started. This is an authentic and rare view of Cuba today and the dancing that lifts the national spirit.
La Salsa Cubana sigue a un grupo de "rueda" un estilo de Salsa reconocido mundialmente unico del barrio de Guanabacoa localizado en las afueras de la Havana. En este documental los bailarines no solo comparten su profunda passion por el baile y la musica. Tambien nos comparten sus retos, sus inspiraciones, nos muestran sus casas y familias y su estilo de vida pero mas qu e nada nos muestran como es que se unieron para asi llegar a la final de la competencia Nacional de Rueda. Este es un raro acercamiento de la Cuba de hoy y el fabuloso baile que levanta el espiritu de su gente. Definitivamente inspira a querer bailar.
