For the first time together! Brazilian songstress Kenia will welcome music legend and fellow Brazilian Ivan Lins for a rare performance of Bahian music. A celebration of Bahian composers, singers Dorival CAymmi, Joao Gilberto, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil in partnership with the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
This momentous concert will be an introduction to "Week IN Bahia," a variety of lectures, workshops, exhibits, music and dance performances taking place in various locations throughout the city in April, 2012 (a collaboration between Mooka Entertainment and the University of Pittsburgh). Together, these events will shine a spotlight on the state of Bahia, a unique area of Brazil known as the birthplace of many world renowned Brazilian artists, writers, musician and composers.
