Event
Blattangelus - San Francisco Latino Film Festival
Dir. Araceli Santana
2010 Mexico 70 min. Spanish w/ English subtitles.
As a member of a traditional Catholic family, Jorge Sosa had always been immersed in schools, activities and unions, in which being gay generated an unbearable ideological conflict. This ended when he decided to completely move away from the precepts and practices of his religion. Then, years later, after receiving the counsel of a priest, he reconciled himself with his identity and now leads a church whose main mission is to promote this same reconciliation of faith and sexuality for others, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Sosa's mission involves teaching about a god who promotes in his followers responsibility and full awareness of their freedom.
Preceded by Three Drops of Water, short film by Marco Castro-Bojorquez
