The Summit
SLICE: Strengthening Local Independent Co-ops Everywhere presents its third annual conference. "Invigorating the Cooperative Economy", a 2-day summit designed to bring Pacific Northwest cooperators, developers, activists, social innovators, policy makers, and the economic development community together to forge practical new strategies for nourishing a new Cooperative Movement which, at its heart, explicitly includes a commitment to social and environmental justice as well as sustainable cooperative development of scale. The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 2012 International Year of Cooperatives, throwing light on the global legitimacy of the cooperative model's ability to uphold democratic, culturally relevant community enterprise.
