Boston Derby Dames' second season kicks off with an all-star bout between the Massacre and the visiting MK-5 travel team of Virginia's Dominion Derby Girls. The Massacre have fared well against opponents from below the Mason-Dixon line, with home track wins against Baltimore's Charm City Rollergirls in April and Atlanta's All Stars in June. Will the MK-5 be able to prove that Virginia isn't just for lovers, or will Boston's quad-skate militia once again bring the beatdown on their nemesisters from the south?
Providence's emo-influenced rockers, the all-female Can't Face the Falling, play two minisets during period breaks. Fans of Cursive and Death Cab for Cutie take note, and check out the tunes at http://www.myspace.com/cantfacethefalling. And, as always, everyone is invited to the on-site Fez Room for an after party with DJ Boo Boo Danger.
Shuttle Bus to the 9/22 Bout against Dominion Derby Girls
Can't drive to Shriners Auditorium this Saturday? Take the commuter rail instead!
Take the 4 pm Lowell commuter rail line from North Station (MBTA Green or Orange line) to the Wilmington stop to catch a free shuttle bus to Shriners. The shuttle leaves after the bout in time for the 9:14 pm train back to Boston. There. Now you have no excuses not to come.
