Women of the Blues
Creative Cauldron joins forces with the Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation to present an original Blues review celebrating the lives and music of some of the greatest divas of the 20th Century. Directed by internationally acclaimed artist, Matt Conner, the show will take audiences on a soulful and sassy journey though some of the most memorable songs in the blues canon.
Performed by a powerhouse quartet of versatile female vocalists, including Helen Hayes Award Winner, Carolyn Cole (Outstanding Lead Actress, Resident Musical-2012, Hairspray, Signature Theatre) and Helen Hayes Award Recipient, Ashleigh King (Outstanding Ensemble, Resident Musical - 2012, Hairspray, Signature Theatre), musical theater diva, Shaylay Simmons, and Indie Soul recording artist, Tarina Szemzo, this is a show you won't want to miss!
Scenic designer Margie Jervis will work her magic and transform Creative Caulron into a funky little blues club, while Music Director, Jonathan Tuzman (Piano) and his band of locally renowned musicians, Vince Calcaterra (Bass), Jim Hoffman (Drums), and Bruce Turner (Guitar), will keep the groove alive.
