VisionFest is the annual signature event from Filmmakers Alliance, the dynamic Los Angeles-based filmmaking collective.
This is the eighth year of this annual event which we are now officially titling "VisionFest." It is held at the prestigious Directors Guild of America Theater Complex and is regularly attended by overflowing audiences and press.
It begins with the presentation of the Vision Award to an established filmmaker whose artistic ambition and excellence inspires emerging filmmakers around the world. Past recipients include Mike Figgis, Terry Gilliam, Wim Wenders, Allison Anders and Alexander Payne.
The presentation is followed by the introduction of the Los Angeles Short Filmmaking Competition winner which is, in turn, followed by a program of the best short films produced through Filmmakers Alliance in the previous year. The evening finishes with an elegant but high-energy party in the DGA lobby, catered by some of Los Angeles' best restaurants.
Filmmakers Alliance celebrates our 12th anniversary this year, our 8th VisionFest event and our 6th Vision Award Presentation, thus establishing the event's reputation in the filmmaking community as an amazing and inspirational event that honors true filmmaking independence and creative ambition. Finally, it is our 4th year of bestowing the Los Angeles Short Filmmaking Grant to a member of the next generation of filmmakers.
Note: Please come early! The event gets VERY crowded. Tickets are available for pick-up at 6:00 p.m. Seats will be held until 7:15 and then released to the public. Tickets will be held for you at the will call table. Parking is free under the DGA Theater Complex and directly across the street.

There is a waiting list for the event but you must show up in order to be placed on it. |
