ARTIST INFORMATION:

BLIXA BARGELD: is the singer and a founding member of EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN, a primary influence on what is now called "Industrial" Music. Blixa is also the guitarist for NICK CAVE and the BAD SEEDS. This solo performance features Blixa interacting directly with the audience while long time Neubauten sound engineer Boris Wilsdorf manipulates and transforms sound in the moment. This is an extremely rare U.S. performance and we are extremely honored to have Blixa part of our festival.

This is the first time Blixa and Savage Republic have performed together since the famous Dessert Auszug show in 1984.

SAVAGE REPUBLIC - Proto Industrial Tribal Art-Punk Pioneers - SavageRepublic.com
Formed in 1981.  Seminial Los Angeles post-punk pioneers. Like Einsturzende Neubauten, approach music from an architectural stance, using alternative and traditional instruments, scrap metal, etc. as a means to a larger end, to create a raw yet cinematic intensity. Performed with Einsturzende Neubauten in 1984 at the Desolation Center "Mojave Auszug" event.

SCOT ARFORD: Uses video interference patterns as the basis of his novel video/audio performance. The result is a cataclismic sweep of extreme frequencies and visual pattern. Like an angry menacing Dream Machine (the Brian Gysin meditation machine, not the band).

More TBA.
