Third Coast Percussion: Common Patterns in Uncommon Time
This dynamic percussion quartet is committed to breaking down barriers between classical and popular art forms. TCP has a strong commitment to the very highest standards for new music.
The highlight of this concert will be a commissioned piece by ensemble member and composer David Skidmore in honor of the 2011 Centennial Celebration of Taliesin. Using concepts such as context, pattern and texture, Skidmore has composed a six-movement piece for Third Coast Percussion, a quartet of young, talented musicians of which he is a part. Special thanks to Sidney Robinson, AIA, who commissioned the work.
Doors open at 7:00pm. There will be a post-concert discussion with refreshments. $30 advance/$35 at the door, space permitting. Space is limited, so advance registration is strongly recommended.
