Grassfire Festival 2011
Save the date and join us the last weekend in August for the 2nd annual Grassfire Festival!
Grassfire Festival and Sola Gratia have partnered to create a family-friendly, community-oriented weekend of camping and good music. Located on a farm in Mesick, Michigan, the festival will begin with music on Friday night, August 26th. Come anytime to set up camp and get settled in the back-field of the property. Music will continue into the night. Saturday morning will include interactive, all-ages poetry, puppetry, music performed by Kevin Kammeraad. Later, a community meal will take place at noon consisting of a taco-bar, (local chicken and beans provided, *bring your own toppings and tortillas*). Music will resume after the community meal and will go well into Saturday night.
After costs, all ticket profits will be giving to the Goodwill Inn in Traverse City, Michigan. The Goodwill Inn provides emergency shelter, food, and basic essentials to homeless men, women, and families in Northern Michigan. The kids will also be participating in an art-based service project Saturday morning that will also benefit the Goodwill Inn.
$33/adult for the entire weekend -or- Saturday only. This includes community meal, (remember, bring a taco fixing and tortillas) and camping either, or both nights if desired.
$20/adult for Friday night music only, (no camping)
Kids are free!!
This community-oriented festival is small, by design, so space is limited. Reserve your tickets ahead!
**NOTE** Weekend/Saturday ticket prices at the door will increase to $40/person - kids are still free. Buy ahead and save $7/ticket!

A few guidelines:
1. Take out what you bring in leave no trace, or the goats may try to eat it when you're gone 2. No dogs. Our goats and chickens *by nature* see your pet as a predator and would rather not have their little ecosystem threatened 3. Public intoxication and drug abuse are not acceptable, keep it respectful of your fellow campers and concert goers 5. If we feel that someone is acting irresponsibly or disrespectfully, they may be asked to leave.
Some camping details:
1. Camping is included in the ticket price. If you buy tickets for the weekend, Friday/Saturday night is included. If you buy tickets for Saturday, Saturday night camping is included. 2. There is no electricity 3. Fantastic-tasting, naturally sand-filtered well-water is available via an old-fashioned looking pump 4. Porta-poties, but no showers. 5. Fires are allowed in the designated fire pits 6. *Remember* Bring taco fixings and tortilla of your choice for the community taco-bar meal at noon on Saturday. We will provide local chicken and beans.
**Rain Policy** In the event of very foreboding weather, we may regretfully have to cancel Grassfire Festival. This call will be made Thursday, August 25th. All pre-purchased tickets will be refunded in the event of cancellation of the festival.
Thanks and see you then!
