What Ever Werx Cabaret
Three of the bay area's best solo solo performers/comedians/musicians combine their super powers to create an unstoppable evening!
Kelly McFarling is a wanderer of wilderness and cityscapes. Since her first release Distractible Child(2010), McFarling has been traveling extensively back and forth across the country, making her mark in the age old tradition of performing live music and connecting to audiences through her bold songwriting, powerful voice, and incredible band, the Home Team (Tim Marcus, Andrew Laubacher, Jonathan Kirchner). She has been noticed by press outlets, bar locals and human beings across the country (including a feature onCNN's Music Monday). She also took home the grand prize at the 35th bi-annual Shoot-Out at legendary Eddie's Attic, released an ambitious and business-savvy joint album, Conspire(2012), with fellow San Francisco songwriter Lia Rose, and she began performing as one-third of the old-time all-female trio Glittersnatch, with Megan Keely and Wolf Larsen. She spent the spring and summer of 2013 touring nationally with The Home Team in support of their 2013 release Ridgeline. - See more at: http://www.kellymcfarling.com/bio/#sthash.F0upu1EK.dpuf
Thao P. Nguyen has been writing and performing solo shows since she joined the Solo Performance Workshop in 2007. Her full-length one-women comedy, Fortunate Daughter, was named one of the Top 10 Bay Area Plays of 2013 by KQED Year in the Arts! She was featured as a closing act at the San Francisco Theater Festival four years in a row (2009-2012). Fortunate Daughter's wildly successful runs in San Francisco, Berkeley, and at the New York Int'l Fringe Festival have resulted in rave reviews and plenty of sold-out shows. Nguyen is currently writing two full-length solo shows, Fake ID and Taboo, to be debuted in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Abas is a bay area native whose been exploring his cross-cultural narrative through stand up and solo performance. To say he likes peanut butter is a severe understatement.
