During the Second World War, a Gypsy family travels the roads of France before learning that the Vichy regime no longer gives them the right to travel freely. Another lush, moving exploration of the Gypsy life by filmmaker Tony Gatlif (Latcho Drom, Gadjo Dilo, Vendo), given added resonance by Nicolas Sarkozy's recent decision to dismantle illegal settlements and forcibly displace the country's Gypsy groups.
