Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre presents Recuerdos de España - Memories of Spain
Experience the passion of FLAMENCO while delighting in Spain's legendary popular melodies performed live-on-stage in an unforgettable evening of Dance, Song and Music in "Recuerdos de España" (Memories of Spain) featuring Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre's critically acclaimed dancers and musicians joined by members of the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra, on Saturday June 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm, presented at New Brunswick's Crossroads Theatre.
As described by The New York Times, Alborada's "theatrical bent could be seen in all its glory" in this production, "skirts whirled as the wearers spun, arms aloft and castanets clacking. Ferocious stomps by Ricardo Santiago sent dust flying into the spotlights" (Tammy La Gorce, 2010).
The program includes: "La Boda de Luis Alonso" of Gimenez, "Andalucia" of Lecuona, "Sevilla" of Albeniz, "The Miller's Dance" from De Falla's famous ballet "The Three Cornered Hat" and the humorous "Zapateado" from "La Tempranica" by Gimenez, Café de Chinitas, Solea and much more.
Come and experience this musically and visually exciting production!
