2011 - GGRD - Double-Header: Manhattan and Bronx vs. Boston
Two Gotham Girls Roller Derby mini-bouts for the price of one!
The Mayhem test their mettle against the Wicked Pissahs and the Bronx Gridlock take on the Boston Blackouts, both from the Boston Derby Dames. It's a chance for the home fans to cheer for BOTH the Gotham teams against our New England rivals!
(Note: the originally advertised foe for the Bronx Gridlock, the Harrisburg Area Roller Derby Nuclear Knockouts, had to cancel.)
Directions for Hunter College:
Note: Doors open at 6:30, first whistle is promptly at 8:30. One ticket buys admission to both bouts, each of which consist of two twenty-minute periods.
Please arrive well before 8:30, as fans must file through the college's metal detectors before entry. Take the 6 to 68th St. You're looking for Hunter's B3 gym way down in the basement of the south west building. Metal detectors will be used, so leave the huge sets of keys and massive belt buckles at home, and arrive early, as lines get long! Alcohol is prohibited. ID will be required to pick up will-call tickets. The bout is all-ages and very family-friendly. Children 5 and under are admitted free. VIP tickets come with track side seating and a gift bag from our awesome sponsors. VIP ticket holders MUST be 18+ years of age. If they are not 18+ years of age, they will be asked to sit in the General Admission sections regardless of whether their ticket is a VIP-designated seat. Hunter College venue does not permit alcohol sales. There is, however, a rockin' after party after the bout at Manitoba's, 99 Avenue B, where you can meet your favorite skaters, jeerleaders, and referees. The Hunter College venue supports access for wheelchairs and companions.
