Don't Stop Me -- A New Musical
A shot at college, internet fame, attention from the one they like. The stakes are high at Plain Springs High's first ever Dance-a-thon. As the demonic DJ transports them to dance crazes throughout history, each contestant must face their deepest desires and greatest weaknesses. Only one couple will walk out with "The Prize." The rest won't make it out alive. There are no exchanges or refunds.
Don't Stop Me is a new musical YMTC commissioned over two years ago with award-winning composer/lyricist Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Ghost Quartet) and playwright Krista Knight (Salamander Leviathan). Inspired by the personal stories and struggles of YMTC students, Don't Stop Me explores the idea of coming of age as an endurance competition that requires a tireless drive to succeed from the upcoming generations whose successes and failures are increasingly presented for consumption through the eyes of social media.
