Trek Nation: A Night with Rod Roddenberry
A son's desire to know his father can be an emotional thing. Rod Roddenberry lost his father, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, when he was just a teenager. Trek Nation is a film documenting Rod's journey to understand who his father was and the impact his father had on the world.
Join Power Scuba for a special viewing of Trek Nation and the short film, Instant. There will be a presentation with Rod Roddenberry at the beginning of the evening followed by a Q&A after the screening. Whether you're a Trek fan, sci-fi lover, or simply a believer in the power of a child's love for his father, this event will have meaning for you!
Instant synopsis: After a desperate criminal takes a bar hostage, six victims work to survive only to reveal that one of them is keeping a secret that could change everything in an instant.
Ticket price includes admission to San Diego Museum of Photographic Art (net proceeds will benefit MOPA). Before the screening, check out the current exhibition, 7 billion Others.
LOCATION: MOPA 1649 El Prado San Diego, CA 92101 (in Balboa Park)
SCHEDULE:
5:00 pm - Ticket holders may enter the museum and walk around.
6:00 pm - Attendees may be seated in the museum theater (No assigned seats).
6:30 pm - Presentation with Rod Roddenberry on-stage.
7:00 pm - Film Viewing: Trek Nation and Instant.
9:00 pm - Audience Q&A with Rod Roddenberry and Raffle Announcement
9:30 pm - End event.
