Navigating the Grey: Consent, Negotiation, and Risk Aware Sex!
A conversation about kink and consent, presented by Alicia Elan and sponsored by Dynamo Toys.
Even if you haven't read the book or seen the movie, the mass-market display cases of over-priced blindfolds and plastic handcuffs have probably caught your attention. There's no doubt about it - popular media has been engaging in conversations about kinky sex! Happily, all this hype has also lead to some excellent responses about consent and negotiation -- in all kinds of play. Perhaps the recent public interest in kink leaves you tingling with curiosity, or maybe you are fondly recalling your own sexy experiences in the sack. But if it has also left you wondering if you could be more comfortable talking about boundaries and desires, then this workshop is designed for you! Whether you identify as a super-kinkster poly slut, a vanilla "LTR" monogamous type, a clothing on cuddler, or anything in between, you can (and it is recommended that you do!) develop a framework for negotiation and consent. Join me for a titillating conversation where we will discuss and practice how to use consent and negotiation to magnify sexy possibilities and make you and your partners' sexual comfort swell in anticipation!
About our educator:
Alica Elan is a Baltimore native who became a lover of New Orleans for what was meant to be a summer fling, but has turned into a loving long term relationship. The three of them are now in a committed poly V -- which, while physically satisfying, Alicia openly wishes could be turned in a poly triangle... if only the two of them could work that out. She is a liberation-minded queer devoted to ending all hierarchies, including what anyone's body, sex, and relationships should look like. Her current professional identities include sex ed researcher, consent / anti-rape culture activist, kitchen table conversation starter, part-time angry dyke, professor, and sex/body-positive workshop facilitator!
About Dynamo:
Dynamo is an independent, female-run, female-friendly adult boutique based in downtown New Orleans.
