The DC Center presents: Double Rainbow with Ben Lerman and Jessica Halem: an evening of comedy and music

Laugh your butt off when NYC comedians Ben Lerman and Jessica Halem come to DC to perform an hour of original music and comedy as seen and heard on MTV Network's Atom Films, Sirius XM Radio, and Logo TV. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the DC Center.

"The DC Center is always happy to welcome national acts to town.  We appreciate the financial support and the chance to bring together a diverse mix of our LGBTQ community," said David Mariner, Executive Director, DC Center.

Double Rainbow with Ben Lerman and Jessica Halem will take place for one-night only on February 7, 2011 at 7:30 pm for $20 per ticket. Join them at The Source Theater, 1835 14th St., NW, Washington, DC 20009.  Seating is limited and advance purchase is recommended.

About Ben Lerman

If the Flight of the Conchords and Zach Galifianakis had a gay lovechild, it would be NYC's ukulele comedian Ben Lerman. Lerman plays to mixed audiences at colleges, theaters, clubs and festivals all over the US and UK. Ben is a regular guest on Sirius XM radio and his work has appeared on Logo TV, Here TV, and Atom.com. Visit www.benlerman.net.

Armed with his wee ukulele, powerful voice, and twisted point of view, Ben gets huge laughs because his songs have real emotion behind them. From a pirate love story to a lullaby for crazy people, Ben's songs point to the humor in all of our lives and relationships, and in the world around us.

About Jessica Halem

Jessica Halem, called "Brave and Bawdy" by Time Out Chicago, was raised by hippie Jewish artists from the East Coast which was anything but normal or easy in small-town Ohio, but did help to foster this funny "on-your-face" comic who puts her queer spin on everything from Sexual Politics to Feminism to Glory Holes.

Jessica earned a degree in femme queerness at Sarah Lawrence College; worked as a social justice activist with Bella Abzug; and as a LGBTQ health guru running the Lesbian Community Cancer Project in Chicago. Jessica Halem was nominated one of Chicago's Best Female Comics and has been featured in Fast Company, The Wall Street Journal, After Ellen, and Carnal Nation. Visit www.jessicahalem.com.
