Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
This American classic is the winner of the 1963 Tony Award for Best Play and the 1962-'63 New York Drama Critic's Circle Award for Best Play and the 1966 film, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, won 5 Oscars, one of the few movies to be nominated in every category. The play was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize but was not approved due to its adult language and situations. (Parents, be warned.)
GEORGE and MARTHA (played by Kauai's Morgan Liddell and Nellie Foster) are two of the most iconic characters in theatre history as they wile away their marriage engaging in verbal contests of acerbic wit.
The caustic duo invites a young couple to their home for late night "fun and games." As the liquor flows, NICK and HONEY (Bailey Hutton and Alexandria Taogoshi also of Kauai) find themselves in the center of an ever-shifting vortex where truth and lies merge in a witty and dangerous Battle of the Sexes. At its core, you will discover an amazing Love story that turns explosive, with fireworks one cannot soon forget. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will leave you breathless and in a state of complete theatrical ecstasy. Drama just does not get juicier than this.
