Dana Salisbury: BARK, an unseen dance for blindfolded audiences
The Performance Project @ University Settlement New York, NY
You might be at an amusement park. Or not. How do you know? You are inside the action; everything is revealed through feel, sound, scent, touch, temperature and air currents. Dana Salisbury's investigations span dance, video, language, site-specific performance installation and art. Her interest in non-visual perception led her to create Dark Dining Projects in 2005, offering participatory performances serving sensory feasts to blindfolded diners. In 2009, she formed Dana Salisbury and the No-See-Ums, a company dedicated to creating "Unseen Dances" for blindfolded audiences.
