The 2011 New England Folk Festival is our 67th annual event in the Boston area celebrating folk music, dance, crafts and food from New England and the world. This three-day festival is produced entirely by volunteers and is known internationally for the quality of the performances and the spirit of the participants.
Music includes Celtic, French, International and more. Numerous workshops for musicians and singers. Jam sessions spontaneously break out (bring your instrument; free storage provided!). Participatory dancing includes Contras, International Folk, Couple Dancing, English Country, and more. Performances include ethnic dance groups, folksingers, instrumentalists, jammers, and morris. Special introductory sessions for people just starting out. Crafts and Bazaar includes handmade items, demonstrations, books, recordings, clothing. A dozen or so food vendors provide tempting snacks or meals during the Festival. Come hungry! Free parking is available at the site and via a shuttle service from nearby lots.
