| Description |
With his wife in a coma following a car accident, a distraught husband struggles to understand the mysteries of his wife's past. After finding notes in the margins of a book his wife, Min-jeong, was reading at the time of the accident, Ho-sang suspects she may have been involved in an affair and sets off to find out with whom. Tempted himself by a conflicted relationship with the doctor treating his unconscious wife, Ho-sang's search for his wife's faceless lover turns more obsessive and his behavior more unpredictable. From the first, bravura image-"surely one of the finest openings of the year" (Edinburgh IFF)-the film's sense of mystery becomes more urgent, in a world where nothing is quite what it seems. "[The] film's measured, contemplative pace imparts a sense of absolute poise, and precisely calibrated directorial control. It's a fine, memorable film" (Edinburgh IFF).
