Mendocino Ballet presents "The Nutcracker' in Ukiah
The role of Clara will be danced by Amelia Taylor of Redwood Valley with Daniel Spence of Ukiah as the Nutcracker/Prince. Chuck Wilson of Ukiah will perform as the mysterious Drosselmeyer, Clara's eccentric Godfather. Hannah Woolfenden of Booneville will dance as Fritz, the mischievous brother of Clara, with Kelsey Hernandez and Eddie Vedolla, Jr. as their parents, Frau and Herr Silberhaus.
Sarah Martin, a senior at Ukiah High School will perform the magical role of the Sugar Plum Fairy who presides over the Land of the Sweets, with Chuck Wilson as Prince Charming. Other major roles are danced by Morgan Cummings as the Snow Queen with Andrew Corpus as the Snow King, and Kelsey Hernandez as the Rose Queen in the "Waltz of the Flowers". Mendocino Ballet Company dancer Alexandria Sadlier along with Corps dancers Annika Gordon, Aliyah Malicay, Eliana Malicay, Majken Rasmussen and Clara Richmond, are joined by 45 other local children and adult dancers and actors from Ukiah, Fort Bragg, Mendocino and surrounding communities to form a cast of talented and entertaining performers.
