Goodness GAYcious, the 2nd in Lucy Morals' "Mizz Lucy Presents" series of burlesque showcases, delivers racy and provocative strip tease acts, with this show's focus on Gay Pride and LGBT communities of Arizona. The show celebrates sexual diversity and gender variance while promoting open minds and community.
The featured entertainer in the show is Georgia Brown, the snarky, sassy alter ego of national burlesque award-winner, Matt Finish from Tucson's Don't Blink Burlesque.
In addition to Brown/Finish, the evening will showcase burlesque performers from Arizona as well as some student performers from Studio VaVaVoom.
The producer of the show, Mizz Lucy, owns Studio VaVaVoom in Tempe AZ, a body-positive, gender and sexuality diverse studio, where people come to learn the art of strip tease while taking a personal journey in building confidence. The journey lends to becoming comfortable in one's own body.
She is also the brainchild behind Romantasy Cabaret. Now in its ninth season, the show that has received numerous recognition as Phoenix New Times Best of Phoenix award for Best Vaudeville Entertainment, runner up for Best Local Performing Art Troupe by East Valley Tribune in 2011, and Best Performance Troupe by the City of Tempe for 2012 and 2013.
VaVaVoom Burlesque & Dance, the showgirls of Romantasy Cabaret, won 2nd place for Best Performance, Group/Duo Category at the Albuquerque Burlesque and Sideshow Spectacular in 2012.
Since 2007, fans have enjoyed dressing up in costumes that fit the themes or in apparel of by gone eras. For that reason, attendees to Goodness GAYcious are encouraged to come wearing anything rainbow-related to help show their Pride.
Due to the adult nature of Goodness GAYcious, and because this event is in a bar, the show is for adults 21 and up. Pub Rock Live offers a full bar and food will be sold on-site by 2 Fat Guys Grilled Cheese, winner of New Times Top Ten for Foodtrucks, 2014. There will also be naughty baked treats for sale by Orange Blossom Café as well as merchandise for sale by The Green Gurl, Arizona's largest selection of pin-up, rockabilly and burlesque attire. A photo booth will also be set up for patrons to snap silly pictures using the provided props and booth is provided by Spinney Productions.
Early purchase of tickets is encouraged as these shows tend to sell out.
