WHEN THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO BURN YOU HAVE TO SET YOURSELF ON FIRE.
This dance-based performance explodes the concept of Rockstardom in a work that completely takes over the PHCA theater and its audience, dismantling the boundaries between viewer and performer; between dance, theatre, music, and installation; between meaning and spectacle.
Then stick around for a sweet dance party with rock'n'roll, artist talk-back and audigraph opps, and plenty of stuff to destroy! Bring your own hammer, saws-all, or kung fu moves; or borrow ours!
Control Group's medium is live performance (occasionally also video), using all available tools to make the work at hand. The purpose and process dictate the form of the product. If that's just a bunch of crap to you: Control Group is a dance theatre company working in a different style for each piece. This one has dancing, singing, yelling, pop music, avant garde soundscapes, velvet curtains, and a raised stage, among other things.
