NEXT WAVE: Seattle Butoh Festival 2011
Featuring international butoh masters Koichi and Hiroko Tamano (Japan), Tanya Calamoneri (LA) and Michael Sakamoto, along DAIPANbutoh Collective's (DBC) co-founders Sheri Brown, Diana Garcia-Snyder,
Joan Laage, Helen Thorsen, Douglas Ridings & Danse Perdue
with DBC's member Kaoru Okumura and many more.
DAIPANbutoh is a perfomance collective formed to bring
butoh to Seattle audiences. Our purpose is to devote our
energy and talents to promote this deeply moving and
evocative international performance movement that has
been steadily growing in Seattle since the 1980s.
Butoh is a creative force that arose out of the turmoil and
confusion of Post World War II Japan.
