HANDEL'S MESSIAH!
The RCO is known for its moving and inspirational Messiah performances with outstanding soloists, the impressive Festival Singers and the laudable Bach Children's Chorus, Karla Krogstad, director.
Soprano Rebekah Camm has already garnered high praise for her opera roles in Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Spoleto, Italy, Cincinnati's May Festival, and has won 1st Prize in the 2010 Lotte Lenya International Competition.
Rochester native, Jessica Ann Best has been described as "a fiery mezzo-soprano with a powerful stage presence." Active both in opera and music theatre,
she has sung with the Santa Fe Opera, Opera Tampa, Intermezzo Music Festival, Mercury Opera Rochester, and others.
Tenor Douglas Ahlstedt is an RCO favorite who has sung more than 189 performances at the Metropolitan Opera and performed leading roles in renowned opera houses in Europe, the Orient, Africa, and South America.
Bass-Baritone Matthew Burns is known for his roles both as Don Giovanni and Leporello. Active with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, and opera companies throughout the United States, he is also busy as a soloist with orchestras in a wide repertory including Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
